A company in the automotive sector asked us for support in developing a complete reorganization plan for the warehouse, in order not only to manage all the logistical dynamics in a more functional way, in particular the shipment of products, but also to optimize the space to obtain a new area dedicated to the processing of the finished products, which until then were located in an external warehouse.
The main objective of our project was to improve the space management, so as to obtain inside the warehouse the new area required.
Starting from the analysis of the structures already existing in the company, we suggested to install mobile bases to the lightweight shelves already present, so as to reorganize the environments and create the processing area of the finished product in the main warehouse.
We have also installed a vertical warehouse that simplifies the management of highly sensitive small parts, which in addition to saving additional space, is the best choice to store the goods in an orderly and safe way.
The first great advantage obtained by the customer was to be able to manage the processing of the finished product directly in its warehouse: until then, in fact, this activity was carried out externally, with consequent rental cost and less speed in the order processing.
Following the warehouse revamping, the customer was able to cut costs by cancelling the lease and remarkably speeding up order management and shipping.
In addition, with the installation of a vertical warehouse for highly sensitive small parts, obsolescence has been drastically reduced.
